Scholarship

UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION

Every year, the Freetown Police Association awards $500 college scholarships to graduating high school seniors who plan to focus study in law enforcement (Criminal Justice), law/legal studies, firefighting, emergency medicine, nursing, health care, or other public service related field. Scholarship candidate applications are rigorously screened by our scholarship committee, some of whom are Apponequet High School alumni, based on academic performance, history of disciplinary issues, class attendance and other extra curricular activities.

ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS

High school seniors who are Freetown or Lakeville residents and are graduating from Apponequet Regional High School or Old Colony Regional Vocational Technical High School. Applicants must be pursuing an education in law enforcement (Criminal Justice), law/legal studies, firefighting, emergency medicine, nursing, health care, or other public service related field.

HOW TO APPLY

For Apponequet Regional High School graduates, our scholarship was added to the scholarship book; please follow the school's scholarship application process. More information on how to apply can be found below when the application period is open.

2019 High School Scholarship Recipients

On Tuesday, June 4, 2019, Ptlm. Christopher Medeiros, Ptlm. Thomas Ashley, and Ptlm. Kaylin Jose attended Apponequet's Class of 2019 Awards Night.

This year, with help from our community partners, the Freetown Police Association (FPA) awarded a total of $5,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors. These scholarships were made available to Freetown and Lakeville students who attend area high schools such as Apponequet High School (AHS) and Old Colony Regional Vocational Technical High School (OC).

On behalf of the Freetown Police Association (FPA), Ptlm. Christopher Medeiros, Ptlm. Thomas E. Ashley, Jr., and Ptlm. Kaylin Jose presented ten (10) $500 scholarships to the following students:

- Ms. Madison Ashley (AHS)

- Ms. Taylor Babcock (AHS)

- Mr. Hunter Bulis (AHS)

- Mr. Kobey Imbert(AHS)

- Ms. Leilah Johnson (AHS)

- Ms. Faith L’Heureux (AHS)

- Ms. Natalie Rose (OC)

- Mr. Matthew Santos (AHS)

- Ms. Jillian Stanton (AHS)

- Ms. Reghan Viera (AHS)

These graduates should be recognized for their hard work and dedication. We hope that they continue their pursuit of academic excellence in the years to come!
